Dr. Joe Robel, Owner/Founder, DPT, TPI Certified
I'm Joe, a Doctor of Physical Therapy and founder of Drift North Therapy Co. My mission is simple: help active adults reclaim their strength, mobility, and confidence so they can keep doing what they love — whether that’s golfing, hiking playing pickleball, or chasing grandkids.
I grew up with a passion for sports and wellness, which led me to play college football at St. John’s University in Collegeville, MN. After earning my Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from The College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, I’ve spent my career helping people stay active and doing what they love.
I met my wife Mackenzie—also a DPT—on the very first day of PT school. Together we’ve built a life centered around health, friends, family, and the outdoors. Whether I’m golfing, playing pickleball, being outdoors, or hiking with our black Lab Remi, I believe that movement is essential for both physical and mental well-being.
Professionally, I bring a wide range of experience—from a clinical internship at Twin Cities Orthopedics to treating geriatric and orthopedic clients in home health care. These experiences shaped my mission to deliver one-on-one, tailored care that empowers clients to regain their mobility and confidence—on their terms.
When I’m not working with clients, you can usually find me up north at the cabin, enjoying Minnesota’s lakes, woods, and wild spaces.
I combine performance-based physical therapy with a personal approach, grounded in evidence-based care and real-world results. Let’s get you moving forward again.
